First Shop Local Draw This Thursday and A Christmas Wonderland

It’s that time of year to #ShopLocal and collect your receipts from businesses in the Gilgandra Region for your chance to win a share of $12,000 in Coo-ee Cash Cards! The first Christmas Shop Local draw will be this week, Thursday 30 November 2023.
This is the 15th year that the Shop Local Christmas campaign has run in the Gilgandra Region, and each year the program continues to grow and build momentum thanks to the ongoing support and feedback from the community!
Don’t forget you can now submit your entries electronically via Councils website. Just take a photo of your receipt and upload it along with your contact details.
This year, entrants must have valid receipt/s dated from 1 November to 21 December 2023 to the minimum value of $50 from participating businesses (Trade Promotion TP/02142). There are two ways you can enter:
- In an official entry envelope into the barrel located outside of the Gilgandra Pharmacy (weekdays) and IGA (weekends). Official entry envelopes can be collected from Gilgandra Region businesses, or from Council’s Warren Road office.
- Online through Council’s website, simply complete the form and upload a photo of your receipt. Visit Gilgandra.nsw.gov.au.
There will be 4 weekly draws on the following dates:
- Thursday, 30 November 2023 @ 10.00am – 2 Draws of $1000 (one hard copy, one digital) for individuals, 1 Draw of $500 for businesses
- Thursday, 7 December 2023 @ 10.00am – 2 Draws of $1000 (one hard copy, one digital) for individuals, 1 Draw of $500 for businesses
- Thursday, 14 December 2023 @ 7.00pm – 2 Major Draws of $2000 (one hard copy, one digital) for individuals; 1 Draw of $500 for businesses; (A Christmas Wonderland Major Draw, winner must be present at the draw to claim)
- Thursday, 21 December 2023 @ 10.00am – 2 Draws of $1000 (one hard copy, one digital) for individuals, 1 Draw of $500 for businesses
In conjunction with Shop Local we are welcoming back A Christmas Wonderland! A Christmas Wonderland seeks to embrace the Christmas spirit of kinship and connectivity as we light up Miller Street for an evening of grazing, shopping and rejoicing. Come along and bring the spirit of Christmas to the Gilgandra Region on Thursday, 14 December 2023 for a festive community celebration @ Miller Street from 5.00pm.
Acting Activation & Communications Manager Merscia Kouroulis says,
“This is an exciting community initiative for the region! The event is focused on brining the community together to reflect on the year that was and celebrate the festive season together, and support our local businesses by shopping locally!”
Come and enjoy an evening of festive community fun in Miller Street including: late night shopping, Shop Local Major Draw at 7.00pm, Gilgandra CWA Markets, jumping castle, a visit from Santa at 6pm, live entertainment with Tameka Kennedy and Mickey Pye, face painting and so much more!
The event includes full road closure of Miller Street between 3.00pm to 11.00pm, with no vehicle access to this street during these times.
