Opening Times

The Gilgandra Swimming Pool is now closed for the 2020/21 season. 

Standard opening times are as follows:

Step 1.October - March Morning Swimming

The pool is open all season for early morning swimming on weekdays between 6am - 8am.

Step 2.October and November

Weekdays: 3pm - 6pm

Weekends: 12pm - 6pm

Step 3.December

Weekdays: 12pm - 7pm

Weekends: 10am - 7pm

Step 4.January

Weekdays and Weekends: 10am-7pm

Step 5.February and March

Weekdays: 3pm - 6pm

Weekends: 12pm - 6pm

Hours are subject to change and group exclusion due to COVID restrictions.

Season tickets are available from Service NSW, Miller Street. They are not available to purchase from the pool.

School Holiday entry fee is $1 pp


Entry Terms & Conditions

Step 1.General Terms and Conditions

  • Users are to wear suitable/proper swimming attire only in the swimming pools.
  • Children under the age of 10 years MUST be accompanied by an adult/supervisor 18 years or over, to gain entry to the Swimming Pool. There is a limit of 5 children (under the age of 10), that can be accompanied by a single adult to the Pool. Pool Management Staff may refuse entry of children on these grounds.
  • The Gilgandra Swimming Pool is a non-smoking, and alcohol free facility.
  • Closure may occur subject to weather, maintenance and low patronage.
  • Bathers who have been ill, particularly if they have had diarrhoea in the previous two weeks, should not swim. All bathers should be encouraged to use a high standard of personal hygiene before entering a pool
  • All infants are required to wear a disposable swim nappy while using the swimming pool, unless they are fully toilet trained. Swim nappies are available for purchase at the Swimming Pool canteen.

Step 2.COVID requirements 

The Gilgandra Swimming Pool has a COVID Safe Plan in place, with users asked to observe signage and direction of staff. A COVID Marshall will also be on-site to ensure these requirements are met. The 1.5 metre social distancing requirement applies.

Pool users are asked to arrive, swim, leave - please do not gather outside the entrance. 

  • Maximum capacity of pool area – 117
  • Main pool capacity – 99
  • Wading pool capacity – 18
  • Change rooms and showering facilities are closed, pool users should arrive in their swimming costumes. 
  • Bathrooms are open, however restrictions on numbers apply.
  • Pool will be closed to the public while it is being used by school groups and swimming club.
  • Groups of no more than 20 people permitted (i.e. activities & birthday parties).
  • Families and social groups arriving together must stay and swim together.
  • Pool equipment (eg. pool noodles & kickboards) are not available for general use.
  • Pool users are to remain on the highway side of pool while booked activities are conducted.
