Gilgandra Welcomes New EV Charger for Sustainable Transportation

Published on 07 February 2024

Electric vehicle drivers will have another reason to visit, explore, and stay in the Gilgandra Region with the installation of a new public EV fast charger located in the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct at the Coo-ee Heritage Centre.

The installation of the new public EV fast charger comes following the NSW Government program to deliver 25 more electric vehicle fast chargers to help deliver greener and cleaner travel throughout regional NSW.

Mayor Doug Batten says,

“The EV fast chargers are a welcomed addition to Gilgandra, which will hopefully see more tourists and visitors driving electric cars stop and explore all our region has to offer, providing an additional opportunity for our tourism, hospitality, and local businesses to capitalise on.”

“While motorists are recharging their vehicles, travelers will have the opportunity to visit the Coo-ee Heritage Centre and its 5 newly upgraded galleries, pay a visit to the Rural Gilgandra Museum, or take a short stroll to the CBD along the Windmill Walk to check out our great cafes and range of specialty retail boutiques and giftware shops.”

“Council is thankful for the opportunity to work with NRMA on this project and welcomes all travelers to the Gilgandra Region.”

Gilgandra’s new public EV fast charger is made possible thanks to the NSW Government and NRMA, to help deliver greener and cleaner travel.
