You can browse and download popular books for reading or listening on your computer, laptop, eReader, phone or tablet from Borrowbox. You can borrow up to 6 eBooks and 6 eAudiobooks at a time, for 14 days.

For reading or listening on a smartphone or tablet, first install the BorrowBox app (free from App Store or Google Play). Select North Western Library, activate with your library card number and PIN/password, and borrow in the app.  Your library card number can be found under the barcode at the back of your card.  If you don’t know your PIN/password, please contact us on 6817 8877 for a reset.  The BorrowBox app is the simplest way to borrow eBooks.

Note:  These eBooks are NOT compatible with the Amazon Kindle as the Kindle is primarily designed to work with eBooks purchased through Amazon.

For reading or listening on a computer, laptop or eReader, go to the Borrowbox catalogue, log in with your library card number and PIN, and choose the books you wish to download. You will also need to have Adobe Digital Editions on your computer.

TumbleBooks

TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture e-books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you. TumbleBooks are streamed online and can be viewed on any computer, tablet or mobile device. To access TumbleBooks from any internet connection, all you need is a library card number.

Story Box

Story Box Library helps get kids excited about reading, inspires their imagination and lets them have fun with stories. On Story Box Library, you can view stories by local authors and illustrators and get them read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers. Reading aloud to children greatly improves language and literacy skills, especially in the early years of a child’s development.
