TikTok to Showcase Gilgandra Trick Shots!

Published on 20 September 2021

Gilgandra Shire Council is bringing some competition to this school holidays with the Gilgandra Youth Services ‘TRICK SHOT Challenge’ video competition 2021.

The competition will run the duration of the school holidays and Youth & Fitness Supervisor, Monica Mudford says it’s a fun way to engage with youth while we are still facing stay at home orders.

“We wanted to offer something to our youth to keep them active and engaged throughout the school holidays. We usually have a full program of holiday events, however this year we’ve had to do things different.”

“The competition asks for a short video that showcases something you’ve nailed these holidays. It could be a scooter trick, a half-court basketball shot, a bottle flip or landing something neat.”

“Utilising social media as a platform to reach out to students and families, it is hoped to keep spirits high and connection ongoing. This is the first time TikTok will be used as a platform with Youth Services, and we are looking forward to seeing if this will be a new way of speaking with our youth” says Mrs Mudford.

The competition opens Monday, 20 September closing Sunday, 10 October and it is free to enter.

There are some great prizes including a Waterproof Sports Action camers, Wonderboom headphones and Cooee Cash Cards.
